Putting the brakes on electricity prices at Rempp Küchen GmbH
Since the foundation of the small furniture workshop during the early 1930s, Rempp Küchen has maintained a strong tradition of craftsmanship. Today, modern production methods form the basis of enduring kitchen perfection 'made in Germany'. Rempp Küchen GmbH has had a solar energy system on the roof of its premises since 2011. In 2013, the company expanded this system. One third of the company's electricity needs are now generated on its own roof.
Solar energy system finances roof renovation
Robusta Gaukel GmbH & Co. KG in Weil der Stadt-Hausen, managed by the third generation of the same family and with a workforce of over 50 people, produces innovative fall-protection, mounting and anchoring solutions.
In 2011, Managing Director Jan Gaukel decided to generate electricity on the roof of the company's facility. Following the completion of urgent renovation work on three older production halls, their roofs were also fitted with modules in September 2013. The solar energy system now has a total output of 237 kWp. By consuming 60 % of the generated electricity itself, Robusta Gaukel has slashed its electricity costs by 20% thanks to the solar energy system.
