Heat water with photovoltaic and reduce your energy costs
The PV heater uses photovoltaic power for heating water efficiently so that homeowners can reduce their bill costs significantly. With a PV heating system they can heat their hot water tank with self-generated solar power in an easy and flexible way.
The product can be integrated into existing heating systems and it can save up to 70 per cent of the energy required to heat water in an average 4-person household. Using a 12-years old oil boiler with an output of 12 kW, it is possible to save ca. 340 l of oil per year, for the next 25 years!
Due to the rapidly increasing energy costs for oil and gas and the sinking costs for PV, today it is more profitable to use the self-produced solar power instead of burning oil. With a price of 5 to 10 ct / kWh, the costs are lower than those of fossil fuels such as oil or gas.
However, pv heating is not only useful from an economic point of view. From the ecological point of view, the pv heater reduces the consumption of fossil fuels thus contributing to the energy revolution.
How it works
The direct current generated by the solar modules is fed directly into a heating element and converted into useful heat with an electrical efficiency of 99%.
There is no need to use an inverter. The system just consists of a heating element and a control. This saves initial costs and maintenance. The PV heater can be easily integrated into any existing heating system with a free 1.5 inch connection.
Unlike other technologies for solar hot water production, neither installation shafts for pipes or pump groups are needed; tubes don´t need to be insulated. The required cables can be laid easily and also have less power loss.
